Professional kitchen engineering inside a historic Venetian glassworks.

THE PROJECT

NH Collection Venezia Murano Villa is a four-star boutique hotel created through the conversion of the historic Fornace De Majo glassworks. The complex preserves its industrial identity while introducing a contemporary hospitality language: 104 rooms, a restaurant, two bars, meeting spaces and terraces overlooking the Venetian Lagoon. The architectural project was designed by H&A Associati.

THE CHALLENGE

To integrate a complete Food & Beverage operation within a complex historic building, ensuring operational efficiency, hygiene, technical accessibility and service continuity while respecting the architectural character of the former glassworks.

THE KOOK SOLUTION

KOOK developed the main professional F&B areas: the kitchen with a central cooking island, professional equipment and custom stainless-steel fabrication, extraction and air-treatment systems, together with the technical workstations for the hotel bars and Food & Beverage areas. The design focused on rational workflows, ergonomics, maintenance and seamless integration with the hotel spaces.

THE RESULT

A discreet yet high-performance professional infrastructure supporting restaurant, breakfast, bar and guest service within a hospitality setting with a strong identity. Technology and stainless steel sit alongside brick, brass and industrial heritage without competing with the architecture.

The transformation of the former Fornace De Majo has been widely featured in architecture and hospitality media. H&A Associati’s regeneration project also received recognition at the 2025 YouBuild Awards in the Architectural Regeneration category.
